Meet Yellowstone Real Estate Group

The Professionals of the Yellowstone Real Estate Group represent many walks of life, heritages and avenues within the real estate world. The common thread is a love of the American West, The Rocky Mountains and the lifestyle of living in one of the last best places, Montana.

If you’re looking for a Blue Chip recreational property with a great fishery, we have the people to take you there and realize that dream. If you are searching for a home that defines your success and represents Montana, or in pursuit of a first time residence, we have the knowledge to get you there.

If a commercial cattle ranch is your goal and your background, our agents have grown up on ranches, and will find a property that fits your needs. Commercial Investment properties and 1031 exchanges can be intimidating, but our experience will educate you, and guide you to a successful closing.

Among our agents, we have realtors licensed in MT, CO, WA, CA and ID. At the end of day, we like to consider our clients our friends, and that’s what separates us from the crowd, you’re not just number. Because in America’s 3rd largest state, that has just under a million people, we’re going to see ya around!

James Duncan

James Duncan Agent, Property Manager

Growing up in northeast Ohio, we were never blessed with the wide open spaces or natural wonders so bountiful in the Rocky Mountain Region, so when I relocated to Portland, Oregon after college to work in the Lighting industry, I was awestruck with the incredible natural beauty: the Willamette Valley, Columbia River Gorge, the Cascades, and of course Mt. Hood. I thought I’d never see a place to compare with it all, but as fate would have it, work brought me through western Montana several years later. This part of America with its mountains, rivers, national parks, and outdoor living is unparalleled in the lower 48 states; from that point on I was hooked.

My wife and I decided to relocate here as soon as she finished medical school and we have worked hard to improve this community we love in any way we can. Shortly after arriving in Montana, I met the owners of the Montana Grizzly Encounter & Sanctuary. Their love and dedication to these majestic creatures impressed upon me the desire to help them thrive in any way I could, so I’ve volunteered my time and now 5% of my net commissions from any property sale here at Yellowstone Real Estate Group to their cause.

In addition to our love of the environment and animals, my wife and I have a passion for helping children and we’ve put that passion into action. I have been a mentor for “at risk” youth at Youth Dynamics Inc. here in Livingston and my wife is the pediatrician at Livingston Healthcare. We’ve also been blessed to adopt an amazing son who will be finishing up school at Park High and likely pursue his dream of becoming a high-end cook/chef.

When the opportunity finally came for me to begin my career in real estate, I felt that it was really important for me to align with a brokerage that would allow me to focus on my clients above all else; to help and guide them to their piece of paradise in Montana without the constraints and pressures applied to agents by national brokerages to sell, sell, sell, and get the largest commission possible . Let me help you find your home here too. Let’s make that dream of yours a reality here in Montana, the last best place. Whether buying or selling, I will be by your side to ensure you are informed, represented, and get the best possible outcome for your property transaction because you are more than just a client, you are a friend and neighbor to me.

Jonathan has 22 years of service as a professional firefighter/paramedic in Texas, New Mexico, Colorado and Montana.  He still loves this career, and it allows him to also work in Real Estate.  His real estate career started in 2007 in Colorado.  After a few years hiatus, he is again working with people helping them find that perfect piece of property; or sell what they have worked so hard to build.  Drop him an email or call him anytime!

Mija Hamilton

Mija Hamilton

I have been working as a real estate agent since 1996 and managing properties since 2004. I was raised in San Diego, attended the University of Washington in Seattle, and am married with two kids, a boy and a girl. In the middle of it all, I had the incredible fortune to live in Milan, Italy in 2001 and 2002.. what an experience (feel free to ask me any questions you may have about Italy, Europe, living abroad, etc.). Seattle was home for many years until we found Livingston, and it was love at first sight.I really enjoy working with both buyers and sellers, from educating buyers on the process, to preparing homes to go on the market.
Searching for my client’s perfect home is just as exciting for me as my other love, travel. Whether it’s finding that amazing property in the Valley or happening upon a hidden cove in the Cinque Terre, it’s all about living and enjoying what you do! Feel free to contact me. I’d love to hear from you.
